System and Life: A Study of Dynastic Order and Daily Life before the Late Tang Dynasty

I collected and sorted epitaph materials to study the religious life of women in Tang Dynasty. Through the lens of sociology of religion, I explored how religious beliefs and practices maintained family order and social cohesion during this period.

Ethnic Relations and Hostage System in the Han Dynasty

Achievement: University-level First Prize
Leading a three-person research team, I explored the main content and development of ethnic thought and policy in the Han Dynasty, examining the underlying reasons for implementing the hostage system. This project investigated the pivotal role of state ideology and policies in the early Han Dynasty, analyzing their lasting influence on the modern “Belt and Road Initiative.”

Spices Introduced from Central Asia in the Han and Tang Dynasties

Through comparative analysis, I examined the spread and use of exotic spices across different historical periods. This research analyzed Sino-foreign interactions and investigated the lasting impact of the Silk Road spice trade on the contemporary Belt and Road Initiative.

I organized and led a five-person research team to analyze how cultural hybridization impacted the spiritual life of Tang Dynasty society and investigated the enlightening implications of cross-civilizational cultural exchanges for contemporary times.

The Evolution of the Picture of the Afterlife Depicted in Ancient China – from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Western Han Dynasty

Leading a three-person team, I investigated the evolution of post-death world depictions from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Western Han Dynasty through comparative analysis of documentary records and physical materials. This research explored the origins of ancient Chinese funeral systems to understand religious burial thoughts and social realities of the time.
